Devils Beer is a heavy dark beer. Since 1883 it has been brewed in Halle, originally mainly as a special beer for the pilgrims. The taste is associated with certain heavy abbey beers and betrays the use of special dark malts and candy sugar. Devil is hopped with 2 types of aroma hop and is lightly seasoned. The aroma is slightly fruity, with a coffee and chocolate-like note.
