With this beer we go back to the roots of Brabant beer. Designed in the beginning of the 20th century as a counterpart to the pils beers that became very popular in Belgium during this period. It is a breeding of the – mainly Brabantse – village beer and was based on the English Ale’s. An amber top fermentation beer with fruity touch and mildly hopped.
The Bueckenholt Belge distinguishes itself from this tradition by its slightly stronger hopped taste, its slightly higher alcohol percentage (6.5 vol%) and its fuller character. This through the use of a specific herb that also benefits the bitterness of the beer. By sweetening the beer during the brewing process with a non-common sweetener, this Belge gets a playful, slightly sweet touch and a slightly deeper color.
